Tuesday, June 9
• Officers responded to a suspicious circumstance at an antique shop on Niles Boulevard. The reporting party said he may have a live grenade inside his antique shop. The item had been delivered to his business earlier that day, along with a collection of war memorabilia. Out of an abundance of caution, officers established a perimeter and evacuated businesses in the immediate area. The Alameda County Sheriff’s Office Bomb Squad responded and determined that the device was inert and did not contain any explosive material.
Friday, June 12
• Officers responded to a dispute between a landlord and tenant at an apartment on Lincoln Court. The landlord brandished a knife at the tenant. The two parties separated, and the victim left the residence. The subject was placed under arrest.
• A reporting party advised that they found several expended shell casings at the east end of Beard Road. Residents in the area also reported hearing multiple gunshots in the early morning that day. A total of 18 casings were found at the scene. No victims were located.
Saturday, June 13
• Officers responded to an in-progress auto burglary on Prune Avenue. The victim saw two subjects inside his RV and confronted the subjects. One subject fled on foot, and the other remained on scene to argue with the victim. The subjects may have broken in through the RV’s sunroof, which was damaged. Officers arrested the subject who was at the scene.
Monday, June 15
• Officers responded to a strong-arm robbery on Fremont Boulevard and Walnut Avenue. A victim was selling shoes outside when a subject approached. The subject choked the victim and stole a pair of shoes. The subject fled in a vehicle.
