Mission San Jose JV boys volleyball dominates season

Freshman and sophomore players finish with near-perfect record

Not every team can claim to be among the best in the Bay Area—but the Mission San Jose junior varsity boys volleyball team has certainly earned that distinction. Composed of talented freshmen and sophomores, the team delivered an extraordinary season, finishing with an impressive 26–1 overall record.

Their dominance extended beyond league play, as they competed in both the Sonoma Valley Volleyball Tournament and Livermore Volleyball Round Up, capturing championship titles in both tournaments without a single loss. Their consistent performance throughout the season set them apart from their competition and made them a widely talked about team in the volleyball community.

Equally remarkable was the team’s efficiency on the court. Many matches were decided in just two sets, with Mission San Jose frequently sweeping opponents and winning by margins of ten points or more. Their ability to control matches from the outset became a defining characteristic of their season and their players.

Head “Coach T” as he is widely known, credits the team’s success to strong chemistry and a shared commitment to teamwork. “This group of players worked incredibly well together and supported one another every step of the way,” he said. He also expressed hope that his players will continue to develop their skills during the offseason and return even stronger next year.
