Nurses from Kaiser Permanente Fremont volunteered their time at the Tri-City Food Bank on May 4 in recognition of National Nurses Week, supporting local families through food distribution and community service.
The volunteer event was organized through Kaiser Permanente’s KP Cares program and held at the Tri-City Food Bank facility on Joseph Street in Fremont. Nurses assisted with organizing, packing, and distributing food during the morning and midday shifts, helping ensure families in need received essential groceries.
Fremont Mayor Raj Salwan visited during the event to thank the nurse volunteers for their service and to recognize their contribution to strengthening food security in the community. The Mayor expressed appreciation for healthcare professionals taking time during Nurses Week to give back beyond their clinical roles.
Food insecurity plays a significant role in overall health, and the event highlighted how nurses contribute to community well-being both inside and outside healthcare settings. By volunteering at Tri-City Food Bank, the nurses supported an essential local resource that serves residents across Fremont and surrounding cities.
Tri-City Food Bank relies on volunteers and community partnerships to meet ongoing demand and continue providing food assistance to individuals and families throughout the Tri-City area.
