March Forth! It’s a call to action, a call for change, a mandate to overcome obstacles. What obstacles keep you from reaching your writing goals? Worried you are not good enough to be a writer? Paralyzed by fear of rejection? Challenge those beliefs at the Fremont Area Writers Zoom Social Write-In on March 14.Â
This is an opportunity to respond spontaneously to one of several writing prompts in a judgment-free environment. You will meet a friendly community of local writers all of whom have experienced writing doubts and stumbling blocks. The Write-In is free and open to anyone who wants to write in any genre regardless of where you live or where you are on their writing journey.
At the Write-In, the computer randomly assigns four writers to each Zoom room. Writers are given several word or photo prompts. Choose one and write whatever comes to mind for about 10 minutes. At the end of the writing time, each person in the room reads their response to their chosen prompt. Because the writing time is short, there is no expectation that the result will be polished or even complete.
The Write-In is sponsored by Fremont Area Writers, a branch of the California Writers Club. FAW also meets on Zoom the fourth Saturday of each month where speakers address some aspect of writing or publishing. The March 28 speaker is Dr. Adrienne Danyelle Oliver who will present a participatory workshop on using the joy of poetry for wellbeing.
To participate in the Write-In or the general meeting, request the Zoom meeting link from Scott Davidson at sc**************@***oo.com. You do not need to live in Fremont to attend. More information is available at cwc-fremontareawriters.org.
