The City of Fremont’s Olive Hyde Art Gallery is proud to present Fremont Youth Emerging Voices, a juried exhibition celebrating the visual art and poetry of local students. In partnership with the Fremont Council PTA, the exhibition features original artwork in a variety of mediums and literary works by students in grades 6 to 12 attending Fremont Unified School District middle and high schools.

Students representing all five of Fremont’s middle schools and seven high schools will participate in the exhibition. More than 60 students have been selected to showcase their original artwork and poetry, with visual art spanning painting, illustration, digital art, charcoal, watercolor and more.
For many participating students, this exhibition will be their first opportunity to have their artwork displayed professionally in a public gallery. Of nearly 200 submissions, 60 students were selected based on technical skill, presentation, creativity and originality. The exhibition provides a valuable opportunity for young artists and writers to share their perspectives, express themselves creatively and have their voices heard.
While some works may be available for purchase, many students have chosen to retain their artwork for personal reasons or to include in future portfolios. All gallery fees have been waived for participating students, helping make this opportunity accessible to young creatives.
Visitors are invited to experience the students’ work up close and celebrate Fremont’s emerging artists and writers during an evening dedicated to creativity, self-expression and the voices of the next generation.
An opening reception will be held at the gallery on Friday, Nov. 13, from 7 to 9pm. A poetry reading will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 18, from 5 to 7pm. Gallery events are always free and open to the public.
