Get ready to seize the day as StarStruck Theatre proudly presents Disney’s Newsies, an electrifying summer MainStage production performed by an extraordinary cast of young artists. Running July 25 through August 9 at the Smith Center at Ohlone College, this high-energy musical features bold storytelling, unforgettable songs and show-stopping choreography accompanied by a live orchestra.
Inspired by the 1992 Disney film and the real-life Newsboys’ Strike of 1899 in New York City, Newsies follows charismatic newsboy Jack Kelly and a determined group of young newspaper sellers as they rally together to stand up against unfair treatment and fight for change. Packed with powerful music, dynamic dance numbers and an inspiring message of courage and unity, Newsies has become one of Disney’s most beloved stage musicals.
Directed by Lori Stokes, with choreography by Francesca Roma and music direction by Nancy Godfrey, this production showcases the incredible dedication, artistry and passion of StarStruck’s talented performers.
