Wednesday, May 6
• At 4:45am officers arrested 27-year-old Albert “AJ” Sanchez Hernandez Jr. of Newark and 30-year-old Raina Capuchin of Tracy in connection to a February 1 murder of 36-year-old Daniel “DJ” Ledesma, of Newark. Both were transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking. At this time, investigators do not believe this was a random act, as the suspects are known to the victim. Although arrests have been made, the investigation remains active and ongoing as Detectives continue to pursue all leads related to this case.
• At 7:44pm officer Medina responded to a domestic violence incident reported near Edgewater Drive and Darvon Street. A 37-year-old male was arrested and transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
Thursday, May 7
• At 8:45am Officer Shaffer responded to a disturbance reported near Thornton Avenue and Cedar Boulevard. A 36-year-old male was arrested for possession of narcotics. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
• At 11:50am Officer Shaffer conducted a pedestrian stop near Ardenwood Boulevard and Newark Boulevard. A 36-year-old male was arrested for outstanding warrants. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
• At 1:53pm Officer Shaffer was dispatched to a vandalism report near Thornton Avenue and Cedar Boulevard. A 25-year-old male was arrested for vandalism and outstanding warrants. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
Friday, May 8
• At 3:07pm Officer Johnson responded to a disturbance reported near Haley Street and Cedar Boulevard. A 44-year-old male was arrested for criminal threats. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
Saturday, May 9
• At 10:04am, while investigating a hit-and-run collision, Officer Germano investigated a theft of landscaping tools reported near Haley Street and Rochelle Avenue. The tools were taken from the rear cargo of a vehicle.
• At 10:55pm Officer Benjamin investigated an assault reported near Cedar Boulevard and Cedar Court. A 54-year-old male was arrested for aggravated assault and domestic violence. He was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
Sunday, May 10
• At 9:30am Officer Taylor arrested a 32-year-old female for domestic violence near Edgewater Drive and Darvon Street. She was transported to Santa Rita Jail for booking.
