The changing season welcomes in a time of new beginnings in the city of Hayward. Visitors are invited to come together with the community to experience businesses opening their doors, endless library fun and other exciting events.
New businesses
This fall, a decommissioned BART car is getting a fresh new look as the centerpiece of the new Arthur Mac’s coming to Downtown Hayward. This family-friendly, pizza-by-the-slice beer garden is set to be the ultimate neighborhood hangout. For Bay Area ‘90s kids who remember riding the 51 AC Transit bus across town, this new location is a sentimental tribute to the neighborhood’s history where locals can kick back and grab a slice any night of the week.
Revere Tattoo, a long-standing fixture in Downtown Hayward, has moved to a new location. Known for its diverse team of professional tattoo artists, Revere Tattoo offers a wide range of styles, including custom color, traditional, black and gray, Polynesian tribal, Filipino, realism, old school, new school, Asian art and more. Revere Tattoo can now be found on B Street, right next door to the new Arthur Mac’s restaurant.
Is coffee not your cup of tea? Tea lovers can look forward to the soft-opening of Dali Tea, a premium handcrafted tea spot with a refreshing selection of beverages and a welcoming environment. Located in the former Once Tea location, Dali Tea is gearing up to be the new Downtown Hayward hotspot for anyone looking for an afternoon pick-me-up.
Gather around the table
On Sept. 24 at 6:30pm, Acqua e Farina invites guests to gather around the table for an intimate four-course pairing experience. Each course will be paired with a Caymus wine, with a representative guiding guests through the tasting, along with creative touches and a few surprises throughout the evening. With limited seating, the dinner is designed to bring people together over great food, wine and conversation. Tickets are $120 per person, with reservations available through Toast.
Changes in parking
The City of Hayward began enforcing parking time limits on streets, city parking lots and garages in the downtown area starting on July 1. Moving forward, the City of Hayward plans to introduce a parking permit to meet the parking needs of people who live and work downtown. Calling all book lovers
The calendar is jam-packed with innovative events this month at the Hayward Public Library. Starting off strong on the first of the month, the Makerspace Open Hours are available for a do-it-yourself space to create, play and learn. Anyone looking to build literacy skills in a tight-knit space can join one of the several Online English Conversation Circles going on throughout the month.
