For Sun Gallery’s newest exhibit, “Climate Change: Mother Earth,” artists and writers across ages respond to the natural world—and its complicated relationship with human beings.
The call for artists states, “Artists are invited to explore our relationship with the natural world: its beauty and resilience, what we have already lost, what is at risk and what we still have the power to protect, restore and reimagine.”
The exhibit features work from over 40 artists, including painter Gerald Thompson, photographer Hollie Adamic and sculptor Peter Langenbach. Several high school students also joined the conversation. Hayward Poet Laureate Emeritus Bruce Roberts contributes Shakespeare Said It, a poem on the modern world stage.
A reception will take place on Saturday, Oct. 3, from 12 to 3pm. Through the month-long exhibit, artists will present demos and talks.
