SFist reported that a 32-year-old Milpitas woman was accused of running down and killing her friend with a car on Friday, Aug. 28. The woman, Anila Baby, was charged the following Tuesday, according to San Jose Mercury News. The incident occurred near 440 Dixon Landing Road.
Witnesses said that the friend approached Baby’s SUV in a non-threatening manner, and Baby accelerated from a stop and ran the other woman over. Police later apprehended Baby after erratic driving. She was in a distressed state, with blood on her.
What complicates the incident is another homicide reported by CBSNews, where a mutual friend of the two women was found dead in her San Jose home on Aug. 29. She had been stabbed.
Baby is currently being held in a Santa Clara County jail without bail, with an arraignment scheduled for Sept. 10.
