May is here and flowers are blooming. The natural world is being creative, and humans can too at the Fremont Area Writers Zoom Social Write-In on May 9. The theme this month is the natural world. At the write-in attendees can respond spontaneously to one of several writing prompts in a judgment-free environment and meet a friendly community of local writers.
At the write-in, the computer randomly assigns four writers to each Zoom room. Writers are given several word or photo prompts to write on for 10 minutes. At the end of the writing time, each person in the room reads their response. Time to get to know each other follows the readings. Writers will then be reassigned to a different Zoom room for a second challenge.
The write-in is sponsored by Fremont Area Writers (FAW), a branch of the California Writers Club. FAW also meets on Zoom monthly where speakers address some aspect of writing or publishing. The May 23 speaker is Lisa Montanaro who will speak on writing family secrets. More information is available at https://cwc-fremontareawriters.org.
