Manufacturing Week marks 15 years

Over 450 students tour Fremont manufacturing facilities

Fremont celebrated the 15th anniversary of Manufacturing Week from Oct. 5 to Oct. 9, 2026, with 12 companies opening their doors to over 450 students.

In partnership with the California Manufacturers & Technology Association, K to 12 and college students toured local clean tech, semiconductor, robotics and AI companies, including Tesla, Seagate, Sonic Manufacturing, Pacific Fusion, Boehringer Ingelheim, Quanta, Rigetti, Golden Altos, Automated Industrial Robotics and Nextpower, for a behind-the-scenes look at STEM careers.

This year also marked San Francisco Bay University’s (SFBU) first time taking part in Manufacturing Week. On Oct. 6, SFBU hosted the “Made in Fremont: Built to Scale” panel, which drew more than 300 registrants. Panelists economic development director Donovan Lazaro, Innovate Bay founder and managing director, and Supermicro senior manager and FAE Rudy Castillo discussed the strategies, infrastructure and innovation needed to take manufacturing from concept to enterprise scale.

This 15 year milestone comes as Fremont led Silicon Valley with five million square feet leased in 2025 and accounted for 70% of the region’s advanced manufacturing leasing.
