On August 10, Union City Recreation will hold the 11th annual Larry “O” Car to raise money for the Ruggieri Senior Center. Locals will proudly display classic and custom cars, trucks, and hot rods from the 1920’s-1970’s!
Raffles will be held throughout the event; purchase tickets for $1 each and drop them into the bin for the prize of your choosing. Prizes encompass a range of ages and interests, for example: a “doggy bag” of supplies for a new puppy, nerf gun, Costco igloo cooler with tailgate supplies, a plastic beach tote with towels and tupperware, spa kit, bag of Trader Joe’s goodies and a certificate for Baldies Cafe in Union City. Proceeds will go to the Senior Center.
Event sponsors include DJ Jose (Qui Qui) who will be playing oldies music for the event (probably with some dancing too), La Cultura Magazine with a merchandise booth, and Washington Hospital with a community booth.
At this family-friendly event, there will be a taco truck, as well as a station with coloring and sidewalk chalk for the kids.
