Grimmer STEAM Club holds community showcases

STEAM Night and downtown event show off student projects

The Grimmer STEAM Club celebrated a successful April by showcasing their projects at two public events in Fremont.

The first event, Grimmer STEAM Night, was held at Grimmer Elementary School on April 10. Students presented their STEAM projects developed through design thinking and engineering practices. The event was attended by the Grimmer community, Fremont Mayor Raj Salwan; former mayor Lily Mei and Amy Perez, Principal, Mission San Jose High School.

The participants engaged in hands-on STEAM activities and enjoyed the family friendly night with food from food trucks and family photos courtesy of Through My Lens Photography owned by Yajaira Betancourt, a former Grimmer student.

On April 22, the club participated in the Spring into STEAM event hosted by the City of Fremont, drawing over 800+ attendees, including Fremont Unified School District Board of Education president Dianne Jones, Superintendent Zack Larsen and Director of Curriculum and Instruction Corey Brown.
