The theme is set for the 2026 Fremont Ghost House, run every year by the Candlelighters nonprofit. But while preparations are underway for Ghost Bride Manor, this year comes with an unexpected challenge. This year, the Chadbourne Carriage House—the site of the Ghost House since 1969—is undergoing roof repairs.
Volunteers are also busy painting props, making costumes, getting ready to help with games and snacks on the midway and rehearsing to be actors and docents. Adults and students aged 12 and up can sign up to volunteer by emailing fr*******************@***il.com.
The Ghost House will open on Oct. 10 and run through Oct. 30 at the Fremont Hub.
