It’s that time of the year! Olive Hyde Art Guild (OHAG) invites everyone to its 42nd annual Holiday for the Arts on October 16 to 18 at the City of Fremont Olive Hyde Art Gallery and Art Center in Fremont.
The Friday Night Gala on Oct. 16 will kick-off the three-day event. Tickets are $20, and gala guests have the exclusive first look at one-of-a-kind artworks while enjoying the historic venue with delicious food, locally sourced wine selection,and live music by Jalisco Harpist Salvador Vazquez.
This year’s Olive Hyde Art Guild featured artist is Emelie Rogers who has donated a beautiful kiln-fired glass piece for a drawing. The piece will be awarded to a lucky winner during Friday night’s gala.

The Show and Sale continues on Saturday, Oct. 17 and Sunday, Oct. 18. Both days are free admission and open to the general public. The Annual Holiday for the Arts features about 80+ Bay Area Artists every year and showcases various mediums: ceramics, glass and sculpture, paintings, photography, jewelry, fiber, gourds and masks, wood, metal and holiday décor. Each piece is carefully screened by guild members upon submission.
Every year Olive Hyde Art Guild expects more than 1,000 visitors with sales reaching up to $25,000. Proceeds support the community through art in local schools; scholarships for high school and Ohlone College art students; art awards, program fees and supplies for underserved and special needs children; intergenerational programs supporting mental health; art books for the public library and workshops for developmentally disabled adults.
