• Officers responded to a residence on Willowood Drive regarding a disturbance involving several subjects in a fight. Officers detained the primary suspect, who was intoxicated.
• Officers responded to a report of a vehicle stopped in a left-hand turn lane with its lights off and no one initially visible inside. Officers arrived and located the suspect asleep at the wheel. A car stop was conducted, and the suspect was taken into custody. The vehicle was determined to be stolen, and officers located a loaded handgun inside. The suspect was booked into Santa Rita Jail.
• Security personnel at a hospital on Paseo Padre Parkway reported that an individual was causing a disturbance and refusing to leave. Before officers arrived, the suspect walked to the Fremont Police Department campus and stole the California state flag from the Animal Shelter’s flagpole. Officers located and arrested the suspect for misdemeanor theft, and the flag was recovered.
Sunday, August 23
• Officers responded to a report of a nude subject walking near Central Park. Officers located the suspect near the train tracks and golf course, where he fled on foot. The suspect was apprehended by an officer who used a golf cart to assist in the pursuit. The suspect was taken into custody.
• Officers responded to a grocery store on Fremont Boulevard regarding a subject inside the store who was disoriented and throwing glass bottles. Officers coordinated a response, focused on de-escalation and detained the individual without incident. Officers transported the subject to a local hospital for medical treatment. A short time later, dispatch received a report of a missing juvenile matching the subject’s description. Dispatch recognized the connection and notified the investigating officers. Officers completed a missing person report and reunited the subject with their parent. No vandalism charges were sought.
