Doors Open California is the largest statewide celebration of historic places. Enthusiasts of historic architecture, design and cultural heritage will have access to 75+ sites across the state on the weekends during the month of September.

Fremont is hosting on Sept. 12 and 13. In Niles on Saturday, Sept. 12, folks can visit Shinn Historical Park & Arboretum, California Nursery Historical Park, Niles Film Museum and enjoy a Niles Town Walking Tour. In Mission San Jose on Sunday, Sept. 13, people can visit Washington Township Museum of Local History, Old Mission San Jose Museum, Gardens at Palmdale and Olive Hyde Art Gallery.
Even without a Doors Open 2026 pass, anyone can simply visit any of the sites on their own. Each location is subject to charge and availability. Some locations are free.
Registration is a flat fee of $20 per person to access all sites (children and students are free). Visit californiapreservation.org/doca/ to register.
