To celebrate 2026 Pride Month, the Hayward Area Historical Society (HAHS) and Hayward Arts Council are hosting a first of its kind exhibition showcasing artwork and poetry reflecting the vibrant spirit of the LGBTQ+ experience by Hayward artists from June 18 through September 29.
The ‘Positively Prideful’ Exhibit showcases an impressive collection of artworks by local artists: Jeanne Bertolina, Frank Celaya, Taioalo Faleao, Dane Foley-Meniketti, Leilani Garcia, Mark Gebhardt, Jesse Lee Gunn, Louis Jiminez, Mo Kim-Tong, Carrie King, Maria Renee Ilustrimo, Janelle Lopez, Dennis McElhatton, Glen Myers, Nooria Nooria, Amanda Nowlin, Ida Rounds, Christine Y. Shimizu, Kai Sinn, Melanie Tiongson, Rory Wiedemann and Charlie K. Weinstein.
On Thursday, June 25, from 5:30-7:30pm, an Artists’ Reception and celebration will be held at the Hayward Area Historical Society (HAHS) Art Gallery to meet and greet the emerging and established local artists.
