Every step supports students

New Haven Schools Foundation 5K Fun Run / Walk returns May 2

The New Haven 5K Fun Run/Walk is back, hosted by New Haven Schools Foundation (NHSF).

The race starts Saturday, May 2, at 8am for a morning of fitness, fun and community spirit, all in support of students and teachers in Union City and South Hayward.

The event includes a timed 5K race with age-group medals, exclusive event T-shirt and swag bag (guaranteed for early bird registrants), School Spirit Trophy for the most creative costumes from New Haven Unified School District (NHUSD) school groups, pro warm-up with Orange Theory coaching and kid races at 9am with a special 100-meter race for children with disabilities.

The fun continues with New Haven Day, an all-day festival showcasing all 12 NHUSD schools, featuring student performances, activities and community fun.

“Last year, we saw a record-breaking 275+ runners and walkers—proof that this event continues to grow in excitement and impact,” said Shruti Kumar, NHSF Fun Run event chair.

“The event is all about community and impact—bringing people together to support our schools in a fun and meaningful way.”

A huge thank you goes to the sponsors, including Fremont Bank, Alameda County District 2, Republic Services, Badella family, Orange Theory and others.
