On April 26, the Fremont community came alive with creativity, connection, and celebration at the Fremont Creates Arts, Culture & Creativity Month (ACCM) wrap-up event. Now in its 4th year, this gathering was designed for local artists and residents, delivering exactly what it promised – a space where art, culture, and community could thrive together.
The Taiko drums, performed by Wadaiko Newark Taiko Group, kicked off the day, setting an energizing tone that carried throughout the event. Their rhythmic presence welcomed attendees and created an immediate sense of cultural appreciation. Paired with the smooth, calming sounds of the Newark Saxophone Quartet, the live performances offered a dynamic yet soothing backdrop that enriched the overall experience. The Makerspace quickly became a hub of activity, filled with children eagerly moving from station to station, immersing themselves in hands-on art projects.

More than 25 local artists participated in the Artists’ Pop-Up Market, showcasing a diverse and inspiring range of work. From bold abstract paintings and intricate glassware to innovative 3D-printed creations and handcrafted clay jewelry, the variety reflected the depth of talent within the Fremont community. For these artists, the event was more than a marketplace, it was an opportunity to share their work, tell their stories, and connect directly with residents.
Visitors enjoyed exploring the market, discovering unique pieces, and supporting local talent. The event fostered a strong sense of community pride, highlighting the richness and diversity of Fremont’s creative scene. In addition, Yarnbombing installations placed throughout the city were noticed and appreciated by local residents, extending the reach of the event beyond the Makerspace and into the broader Fremont community.

Fremont Creates extends its sincere thanks to the City of Fremont and our sponsors – Washington Health, Fremont Bank, Fremont Cultural Arts Council (FCAC), ARIA Printing & Shipping, and Tri-City Voice for their continued support in making this event possible. Fremont Creates thanks all the volunteers who helped bring this event to life.
Looking ahead, Fremont Creates will continue to explore new ways to promote art in Fremont and involve and attract even more residents. By increasing awareness and engagement, Fremont Creates aims to grow ACCM into an even more inclusive and widely supported community tradition.
