Summer is in full swing in Niles. From movie nights to dance parties, there have been so many new and returning faces at our community events. The lovely Bay Area weather and the enthusiasm from the people of our beloved town have a way of making summers in Niles truly beautiful.
The Niles Main Street Association (NMSA) is continuing to bring the community together through events like the Niles Movie Nights, Concerts in the Plaza and the Niles Dog Show. On July 8 from 6 to 8pm the Essanay Silent Film Museum will host a night of cinema and community with a showing of the original 1984 Footloose with Kevin Bacon.
On July 11 from 4 to 6pm is the monthly Niles Concert in the Plaza. This month features headliner Sabor De Mi Cuba Trio, who will be playing beautiful Cuban-style salsa music. There will be Zumba and Latin line dancing following the concert at 6pm.

The Niles Dog Show on July 18 will be a day filled with contests, a doggie water park, canine demonstrations and food trucks (for human companions). Start the day off with a $10 pancake breakfast from 9 to 10am (purchase tickets at the info booth) and follow it up with the Fremont Police K-9 Demonstration. It’s sure to be a fun-filled day.
NMSA is always seeking new members and looking to connect with current ones. Our annual membership meeting is July 9 from 7 to 9pm at the Niles Train Depot.
