We are pleased to announce that the 61st Annual Hayward Air Rally will be held on Saturday, May 17, 2025. Please mark your calendars.
While the details are still being worked out, the format will be similar to recent single leg rallies:
• A mandatory course and safety briefing will be held Friday afternoon, May 16th.
• The rally flight will consist of a single 250nm leg from Hayward to a nearby, yet-to-be-decided airport, scored as usual on the basis of pre-flight time and fuel estimates.
Rally registration will open in February, as will applications for the 2025 Ray Hazel Memorial Scholarship. We will have more details on both at that time. We hope you’ll make plans to join us for the flying and festivities!
For the third year in a row, up to $2,500 will be awarded to persons pursuing degrees, certificates or licenses in the aviation industry. Applicants may attend programs anywhere in the USA, but must be connected to the Hayward area either through current or recent-past residency. Applications are due April 30th, 2025.
