Updates to Dirty Bird Lounge and Craft Pizzeria, plus the last Street Party of summer 2024

Experience the bustling energy of Downtown Hayward this August! The Downtown Hayward Improvement Association (DHIA) is excited to unveil the changes and upgrades transforming the neighborhood. Plus, the community is invited to take part in family-friendly celebrations!
Updates in the Neighborhood
Downtown Hayward is thriving with new developments everywhere you look – literally! To continue enhancing the neighborhood’s beauty, the DHIA has installed 26 hanging flower baskets along B Street, adding vibrant color. This is one of several beautification projects in the works.
The Dirty Bird’s new speakeasy just opened its doors a couple of weeks ago and has quickly become a favorite in the community! Located in their basement, this agave-focused space boasts a remarkable collection of more than 150 tequilas and 14 mezcals. Guests can enjoy Latin-inspired cocktails with housemade ingredients, complemented by bar bites like buffalo meatballs and empanadas. With pool tables and music curated by The Stacks Record Shop every Friday and Saturday, it’s a refined experience that can’t be missed. Soon to come are events like tequila tasting dinners and themed nights. Ideal for private events, the venue offers semi-private spaces on Fridays and Saturdays and can be booked entirely from Sunday through Thursday. https://thedirtybirdlounge.com/
Downtown Hayward’s beloved Craft Pizzeria is undergoing a transformation! The restaurant has recently added eye-catching new signs, upgraded TVs, and a new liquor license, allowing them to serve a wider selection of drinks, including more draft beers. Meanwhile, some favorites remained unchanged, like Sector 19, the neighboring laser tag venue that’s perfect for some fun after enjoying Craft Pizzeria’s delicious food. It’s Time to Come Together and Celebrate!
Downtown Hayward is gearing up for a grand celebration! Throughout summer, the neighborhood has been hosting vibrant Street Parties that capture the lively spirit of Downtown Hayward. The last one of the season, organized by Hayward Chamber of Commerce with support from the DHIA, will take place on Thursday, August 15, from 5:30pm to 8:30pm, between B Street and Main Street.
This street party promises an evening filled with live music, delicious food and drinks, and a variety of local vendors. Attendees aged 21 and above can enjoy the beer and wine garden, while families can delight in an array of kid-friendly activities and stations.
