September 21 is International Day of Peace

Local organizations gather for prayer and reflection

The UN established September 21 as an “International Day of Peace,” and the first observance occurred in 1982. There are two events to join in the East Bay: one organized by Fremont Human Relations Commission, Tri-City Interfaith Council, Pax Chisti and Compassionate Fremont will take place in Fremont. The other, organized by the East Bay Regional Park District, will take place at Lake Chabot on September 27.
