Retirement of Fire Engineer Allan Diaz

Engineer Allan Diaz has completed his last shift with the Fremont Fire Department after nearly 31 years of service.

Allan was hired as a firefighter in November 1993 and his career has been filled with many remarkable achievements and contributions:

• Major Contributor to the Burn Foundation: Allan has been a dedicated supporter of our local burn foundation, helping to raise awareness and funds for burn victims.

• Combat Challenge Participant: Demonstrating his commitment to excellence, Allan participated in the Firefighter Combat Challenge.

• HERS Foundation Organizer and Volunteer: In addition to his duties at the firehouse, Allan dedicated his time to organizing and volunteering for the HERS Foundation, supporting women in their battles against breast cancer.

• USAR Logistics Team Member: Allan was an integral part of the Urban Search and Rescue (USAR) logistics team, providing critical support during Hurricane Harvey and Hurricane Irma.

• Antique Fire Engine Manager: Allan took great pride in managing and maintaining the Local 1689 antique fire engine, preserving a piece of our department’s history.

• Purple Heart Recipient: In recognition of a significant permanent or long-term injury received while operating at an emergency incident, Allan was awarded the Purple Heart.

• Community Outreach Events: Allan has been a familiar face at public events, representing the department with dignity and fostering strong community relations.
