Plethos Productions will kick off its ninth season with a soiree at Storybook Restaurant in Hayward on Jan. 17. The night will involve laugh-out-loud performances, sneak peeks at upcoming shows, awards to loved Plethos’ members and the announcement of a new executive director.
This year’s lineup will feature standup comedians including new comedy director, Bay Area comedian Damian Montes. Stagecraft Camp Teens and Kids will be performing songs from the upcoming season, and the past Plethos fam will join with improv, clowning, singing and more.
The annual “Fammy Awards” will be given out in the categories of: Best Dramatic Performance, Best Comedic Performance, Best Improv Performance, Outstanding Crew Member and Community Spirit Award.
The soiree will also introduce new acting executive director Jessica Wigand, as current director Karin Richey steps down after eight years.
Brick oven pizza, other food and drinks will be available to purchase and enjoy throughout the show. This is an all-ages event, but some stand-up comedy and performances may contain strong language. Seating will be first-come, first serve and seating is limited so be sure to buy tickets in advance.
