On Thursday, Feb. 19, Newark Police Department and Fremont Fire Department responded to a report of a vehicle collision at the intersection of Cedar and Stevenson Boulevard.
Upon arrival, first responders found a solo motorcyclist who had collided with a traffic island and traffic signal. They performed first-aid treatment on the motorcyclist and was transported to a local hospital. He later succumbed to his injuries in the hospital.
The motorcyclist was a 29-year-old male of Milpitas.
This is Newark’s first vehicle fatality of the year.
