A major collision occurred in the intersection of Cushing Parkway and Auto Mall Parkway in Fremont at approximately 1:49am on Tuesday, Jan. 27.
A BMW traveling northbound on Cushing Parkway and a semi-truck pulling a trailer westbound on Auto Mall Parkway collided at the streets’ intersection.
Fremont Police have indicated in their initial investigation that the front of the BMW made impact with the middle of the semi-truck, pulling the BMW underneath the trailer. The traffic signals at the intersection were determined to be functioning properly at the time of the collision.
Fremont Fire Department, Fremont Police and EMTs arrived on the scene and began medical aid to all involved parties. The BMW had two people in the car. The driver of the BMW was transported to a local hospital and was released. The passenger in the BMW suffered life-threatening injuries and remains in the hospital. The semi-truck driver was not injured and remained on the scene, fully cooperating with police.
The cause of the collision is still under investigation. However, Fremont Police believe one of the vehicles entered the intersection at a red light. Drugs or alcohol are not believed to be a factor in the collision.
The family of the injured people posted a GoFundMe. Sadly, 19-year-old Ahmad Muslim Faiez of San Jose, succumbed to his injuries and passed away in the hospital.

It is so dangerous at this location AND from that location to the end of west Auto Mall Parkway. I have recently watched as a new Porsche was doing donuts at end of AutoMall by the dump area. I watch daily at the excessive speeding of new vehicles at end of AutoMall by the dump area. I believe these vehicles to be from the local auto companies service department. I actually followed one of the vehicles to the Mercedes Benz dealership service department. I asked the guy if he knew what the speed limit was and he said, “Yes.” Where are the radars and cameras for the end of AutoMall by the dump area?
Well the dealerships should be aware of what the employees are doing test driving cars in this area
If I were you I would tell the manager!
