Indo-American Federation holds annual Unity Dinner gala

Panel discussion of experts discusses cybersecurity and AI

The Indo-American Community Federation (IACF) has been organizing Annual Unity Dinner meetings since January 2002 with support from the community, businesses, and elected officials. One of the main goals of Unity Dinner meetings has been discussing current and emerging topics. This year’s event, held on April 18, focused on artificial intelligence and cybersecurity, with experts from the field participating in a panel discussion.

This year, there were more than 25 public officials who were a part of the Unity Dinner. The Keynote Speaker was State of California Attorney General Rob Bonta, with guest speaker Garrett Yee, retired Major General. Guests included California State Assemblymember, Alex Lee, Alameda County Supervisors Dave Haubert and Elisa Marquez, Alameda County District Attorney, Ursula Jones-Dixon, and Fremont Mayor Raj Salwan.

The evening’s program and panel discussion, led by moderator as Jalali (CISO, AC Transit), asked what it takes to bring AI into public services—safely, responsibly, and with real impact. The panelists were Mayor of Cupertino Liangfang  Chao, Ph.D.; Mayor Emeritus of Fremont Lily Mei; Karthik Krishnan, CEO, Concentric AI and Huseni Saboowala, CEO, Daxa, Inc.
