The Moreau Catholic football program has six CIF State Championship athletes who have been selected to compete in Homer, Georgia at the Peach State Gridiron Classic. This prestigious All-Star football game is led by Coach Lamar Daniels and has elite Prep Athletes representing 14-States.
A team draft was held for the athletes participating in the game, players were separated into two teams: Team Dream and Team Work. Jeremiah Charles and Jalen Arnold have been selected for the Offense, Team Dream. Jameson Ransburg, Peyton Collins and Seth Evans have been selected for Team Dream’s Defense. The lone Mariner selected to join “Team Work” was player Miles Moore, who will be competing as Tight End.
The six Moreau Catholic athletes will travel to Georgia the day after Christmas for three days, the events will commence with an All-Star football game held on Sunday, Dec. 29 at 1:30pm. The Peach State Gridiron Classic will be streaming LIVE from Banks County High School in Homer.
“These young men have demonstrated exceptional skill, dedication and sportsmanship throughout their high school careers,” says Keith Minor, head football coach at Moreau Catholic
High School. “They are all dominant players who have consistently performed at the highest level. I am incredibly excited to watch them compete against some of the best talent in the country and represent our community at the Peach State Gridiron Classic.”
Seth Evans is the lone underclassmen. Evans, in his junior season, is very familiar with winning championships. In 2019, Evans won the gold medal in the United States of America Weightlifting’s (USAW) annual Youth National Championship, held in Anaheim; Seth competed as a member of Speed Power Strength (SPS) gym in Oakland. In 2021, Evans was dubbed the “Strongest 13-year old in America” sweeping all gold medals and breaking the Pacific Weightlifting Association’s records at the USAW Annual Youth Nationals event, held in Detroit, MI.
“When I turned in my competition weightlifting shoes to return to my football cleats, I believed I could help win a State Championship with my brothers. We did it! Now I know what it feels like to win a championship in two sports,” shared Seth Evans.
