Celebrate the launch of the Hayward Hawaiian Music Series with an evening of aloha, community and world-class music. Presented by award-winning Bay Area native Patrick Landeza, this concert marks the beginning of a new tradition in Hayward with four-time Grammy winner Kalani Pe’a, bringing his powerhouse voice and heartwarming stage presence to the Bay Area.
This one-night only concert takes place at the Hayward Unified School District Performing Arts Center on Saturday, Oct. 25. The night will be filled with Hawaiian classics, original compositions and the cultural spirit that has made Pe’a one of Hawai‘i’s most beloved artists.
Pe‘a’s talent for lyrics will be on full display with his original Hawaiian songs alongside his affectionate bilingual arrangements of R&B favorites. In addition to Pe’a, Hayward’s own Kaulana Nā Pua O Hawaii Dancers, under the direction of Deanie Lum, bring the traditions of Hawaiian dance to the stage.
The series is hosted by award-winning musician Patrick Landeza, one of today’s leading voices in Hawaiian slack key guitar. Landeza made history as the first mainland-born Hawaiian to win a Nā Hōkū Hanohano Award, Hawai‘i’s highest music honor.
