The Candle Lighters Ghost House is a 55-year-long Fremont tradition. This year, the Ghost House has two parts: “Fears” and “Nightmares.” Attendees need a double-entry ticket to see both parts. As always the Good Fairy will escort less adventurous adults and kids.
On Saturday, Oct. 19, the Ghost House hosted the kids costume parade and costume contest. American High School Marching Band also joined the parade in costume. Judges were Cyndy Mozzetti, MaryAnn Stoermer and Kyle Sater from Fremont Fire Dept.
There were 16 winners across four main categories: The Captain Casey McCuaig First Responders Award went to Cameron “CJ” Stevens. The Best Group Costume Award went to Valentina Orozco (firefighter), Catalina Orozco (dalmatian) Briana Orozco (fire fighter) pulling a wagon decorated as a fire truck. The Judge’s Choice Award went to Daylaine Romero as a zombie Ronald McDonald. The Band Award went to Anshuman Adavelly from American High School costumed as Jack Skellington.
