April is Arts, Culture, and Creativity Month (ACCM), a California-wide, month-long celebration of visual arts, performance arts, musical arts, literary arts, and the diversity of our communities. ACCM was established in 2019 by Californians for the Arts, and Fremont joined the celebration in 2023 as FREMONT CREATES.
In 2024, Fremont Creates promoted multiple events on its website and brought artists and culture keepers, throughout the community, together to meet and exchange ideas. The Grand Finale brought more than 500 people together to enjoy music, spoken word, performances, and the makerspace. During the month of April, 2025, events will take place at different venues throughout Fremont, culminating in the Grand Finale at the Downtown Event Center on Apr. 27, 2025. This event is open to the whole community free of charge.
Goals for the 3rd annual Fremont Creates:
1. Set the expectation that Fremont Creates is an annual April event throughout the City of Fremont.
2. Provide an opportunity for the community to explore the artistic culture in Fremont and for local artists to showcase their talents to the community.
3. Bring local artists and culture keepers together for a shared experience (to exchange ideas and feature their expertise).
4. Engage businesses and community partners to support Fremont Creates, acknowledging arts and culture are necessary for a vibrant and inclusive community.
For artists (visual, performance, musical, literary) who are interested in participating and learning more about ACCM, join us on Tuesday, Jan. 21, 2025, at Artist Walk in Centerville. We will be providing information on how you can participate and answer any questions you may have.
