Fremont Cultural Arts Council (FCAC), Fremont Photographic Society and the City of Fremont are sponsoring the 31st Annual Juried Photography Exhibit. The exhibit will open on Saturday, April 4, and the photographs selected by the panel of judges will be on display at the Fremont Main Library during library hours until Saturday, May 8.
Connie Chew, president, FCAC, said, “April is Arts, Culture and Creativity month, and this is a fun way to see the wonderful photography and vote for your favorite for the People’s Choice Award.”
A panel of judges selected photographs based on quality, creativity and originality. “The show drew an impressive range of entries from both students and adults,” said Rajeev Shankar, event chairperson. “With more than 50 photographers participating, the exhibit received far more submissions than could be displayed, underscoring the depth of interest in the visual arts.”
He continued, “Submissions spanned vivid landscapes, intimate portraits and inventive abstracts with many photographers using everyday scenes as their subjects. Student photographers demonstrated a sharp eye for storytelling and mood, while adult entrants brought a refined technical skill and personal perspective to their work. Together, the images offer a vibrant visual snapshot of life in Fremont and highlight the power of photography to connect generations.”

The jury members decided the awards, and visitors at the opening night reception will vote to select the winner of the People’s Choice Award. Winning photographs will be displayed on the FCAC website fremontculturalartscouncil.org.
