East Bay local accomplishments

See what our locals have been up to!

People around the East Bay have been working hard! Here are a few to highlight:

Evanka Parekh, a junior at Mission San Jose High School, reached out to the paper about her nonprofit Return Gifts, which distributes period products to girls and women who need them. The organization has donated to Fremont Family Resource Center, SAVE (Safe Alternatives to Violent Environments, EBAC (East Bay Agency for Children in Oakland), and the Boys and Girls Club of America in San Jose. The City of Fremont recognized Return Gifts for donating 2,000 products to the Family Resource Center during Summer Break, 2024. Parekh hopes to distribute 15,000 more products by the end of 2024 and add 10 more volunteers to their team. Learn more at: www.returngifts.org.
