City Council meets, proclaims and appoints in Union City

UNION CITY CITY COUNCIL MEETING AUGUST 13, 2024

Meeting Summary

· The Union City Council proclaimed September 2024 as National Preparedness Month. All citizens and civic organizations were urged to make preparedness a priority and to work together as a team to ensure all individuals, families, and communities are prepared for disasters of any type.

· Arts & Culture Commission: Florence Tsang was appointed as an alternate for a four (4) year term expiring August 12, 2028. Sarahbeth Roquez-Co was appointed as an alternate for a four (4) year term expiring August 12, 2028.

· Economic Development Advisory Team: Asif Khan was appointed as an at-large resident to a term expiring August 8, 2027. Harpreet Bains was appointed as the alternate at-Large member.

· Senior Citizens Commission: Appoint Teresita Zurbano was appointed to a four (4) year term expiring August 12, 2028. Lillian Martinezto was appointed to a four (4) year term starting on September 1, 2028, and expiring August 31, 2028. Claudette Begin was appointed as an alternate for a four (4) year term expiring August 12, 2028. Dean Nissen was appointed as an alternate for a four (4) year term expiring August 12, 2028.

· Award A Construction Contract To McKim Corporation, In The Amount Of $2,372,999, Approving A Total Project Budget, In The Amount Of $2,860,690

· Authorize The City Manager To Execute The Second Amendment To The Consulting Services Agreement With TDG Engineering, Inc., In The Amount Of $33,526, For A Total Contract Amount Of $108,145, For The Preparation Of A Green Streets Report For The Quarry Lakes Parkway Project, City Project No. 18-04

· Authorize The City Manager To Execute The First Amendment To The Consulting Services Agreement With Group 4 Architecture, Research + Planning, Inc., In The Amount Of $945,000, For A Total Contract Amount Of $1,019,950 For Preliminary Design Of Category 1A, 1B, 1C, And 1D And The Final Design For The Corporation Yard Master Plan, City Project No. 23-26

· Authorize The City Manager To Execute A Master Agreement With AVA Community Energy For Union City Transit Electric Bus Fleet Charging As A Service (CaaS), In A Form Approved By The City Attorney

· Approve An Amendment To The Station East Mixed Use / Residential Project Development Agreement
