Cherry Festival returns to San Leandro

Sweet downtown event features community and food

The Cherry Festival has been a tradition in San Leandro since 1909. In 2025, the festival and parade take place on Saturday, June 7.

The downtown area around the BART Station, from Parrot Street, East 14th Street, to San Leandro Main Library, will be closed for vehicle traffic from 8am until 12pm to facilitate the parade, which kicks off the event at 10am. Residents, local businesses, community groups and schools will join with festive floats, classic cars and creative costumes.

The festival proper starts at 11am on West Estudillo Avenue, and includes a main stage with live music, vendor market with over 150 booths, family fun zone and car show. The fresh cherry market will feature produce from Gotelli Farms (Lodi), Urban Organics (Watsonville), Villanueva Farms (Ripon), B&B Farms (Linden), and more! Also not to miss are the cherry pie baking and cherry pie eating competitions.

The festival is BARTable! The market is just one street over from the BART Station.
