The April 11, 2026 Flash Fiction Writing Contest co-sponsored by Fremont Cultural Arts Council (FCAC), Fremont Area Writers, Infinity Care, Nothing Bundt Cakes and Half Price Books will be held inside Half Price Books at Fremont Hub.
The theme of the contest is First Love. The FCAC reserves the right to return entries that do not meet the criteria, contain plagiarism or would be offensive to the general reader.
All entries must be 300 words or less including the title, in English. If no title is provided, FCAC will assign a three-word title including a number. Stories will be posted with title, but without the author’s name. Everyone can enter, no age or location restrictions, but no more than three entries per person.
Submissions should be type-written on one page in 12-point font or larger with the author’s name and phone number written on the back or emailed as an attachment with the author’s name and phone number in the body of the e-mail message.
Submissions by email must be sent by 11:59pm, Monday, April 6, and by 12 noon for mailed entries. Entries will not be accepted at Half Price Books.
Various prizes will be given. The awards will be chosen by those people who come to Half Price Books on Saturday, April 11 between 10am and 5pm, to enjoy the posted stories, and fill out a ballot listing the number or name of up to five favorites.
