On May 21, Alameda County Water District held an award ceremony for the winners of the WaterClips video contest. For the contest, junior high and high school students created a 30-second video on the theme “ACWD Water and Me.” Videos displayed filming, editing, and acting skills, and often showed the students’ families and familiar sights around the Tri-City Area.
Judges included local officials such as Fremont Mayor Raj Salwan, Newark Mayor Michael Hannon, and Fremont Fire Department Public Affairs manager Aisha Knowles. (Tri-City Voice also got to help!)
Winning entries will be screened in local theaters before films from May 23 to June 12.
The winners and 24 honorable mentions can be viewed on the ACWD website.
