Galvanize purchases first California property in Milpitas

Climate and real estate firm plans to update old properties for energy efficiency

Climate and real estate investment firm Galvanize has recently purchased property in Milpitas. Tom Steyer founded Galvanize Climate Solutions in 2021 alongside Katie Hall as a global, climate-focused investment firm designed to accelerate the energy transition and scale decarbonization technologies. The firm is led by CEO and co-chair Katie Hall alongside co-chair John Kerry.

The industrial campus is the firm’s first California acquisition. San Francisco Chronicle lists the purchase price as just under $94 million.

The firm plans to update the buildings (which were built in the 1990s) with energy-efficient improvements that will attract tenants. The properties at Cadillac Court are near I-880 and tech companies such as Tesla, Amazon and SeaGate.
