Hayward displays art by students

Show focuses on works by local community college students

The Hayward Arts Council presents the College the Art in the Heart of the Bay Exhibition showcasing 60 artworks by Cal State East Bay and Chabot College art students at John O’Lague Galleria in Hayward City Hall.

Emerging artists in the art departments of both colleges have created a variety of media including 2D and 3D artworks to be on view through Nov. 4 at the John O’Lague Galleria at Hayward City Hall. Meet and greet the talented art students of Hayward’s colleges on Friday, Sept. 18 from 5 to 7pm in the Hayward City Hall Rotunda.

The Hayward Arts Council believes that all students deserve access to a quality arts education to help pursue their dreams. Providing skills and various forms of art education gives students of all levels a voice and improves critical thinking skills. College Art in the Heart of the Bay offers the perfect time to reflect on the myriad of benefits that arts education can provide for our students.

Hayward Arts Council is non-profit 501(c)3 arts organization that stimulates community interest in the arts and encourages the participation of artists in all media.
