Temperatures soared the first week of August, but many braved the heat to visit the Fremont Festival for the Arts, shopping at food and arts vendors, exploring rides and games in the Kids’ Zone and visiting booths from community organizations.
With a new layout along Capitol Avenue, the festival took advantage of the downtown event center plaza and stage. The festival team posted to their Instagram that 2026 drew over 13,000 attendees on Saturday, and over 11,000 on Sunday—a 16% and 40% increase from 2025, respectively.
Local officials gave a welcome at the festival stages on both Saturday and Sunday. County Supervisor David Haubert, Fremont City Councilmember Kathy Kimberlin, Fremont Chamber CEO Teresa Hoang were at the main stage on Saturday.
BART president Melissa Hernandez also joined to give updates on BART—that all the new faregates are up and about ticket discounts for children, seniors and students. (The festival was a 15-minute walk from the Fremont BART station.)
A representative from Alameda County assessor Phong La’s office presented a commendation to the group of officials.
