Amazingly, if the 4th of July Parade could return to celebrate America’s 250 years in Fremont, then fireworks could have been added to the list of celebrations as well. I noticed the neighboring city of Milpitas had fun with fireworks at its sports center, celebrating the people, places and things we love about the nation.
I understand budget constraints and extra precautionary measures to prevent any fire-related damages. But we have the best lake, a grassy field and, of course, ample parking lots to accommodate several hundred spectators.
I urge the Mayor and the members of the city council to approve fireworks in Fremont next year to enjoy the same fervor and enthusiasm.
