Woman suffered gunshot wound while doing son’s laundry

Tuesday, April 21

• Officers responded to a late-reported armed robbery near the Sullivan Underpass. The juvenile victim reported being robbed of a backpack by two suspects armed with handguns. Officers located the suspect vehicle near the Tom Blalock corridor and conducted a high-risk traffic stop. Officers safely detained multiple occupants, including one juvenile who was positively identified as one of the robbery suspects. Another juvenile suspect associated with the incident was located and detained at a residence on Porter Street. The case remains under investigation.

• Officers responded to a report of indecent exposure at a laundromat on Fremont Boulevard. A subject was completely nude inside the laundromat. A patron at the laundromat told the subject to put his clothes on, and the subject complied, then left in a vehicle. Officers located the subject and placed him under arrest.

Wednesday, April 22

• Officers responded to assist the Fremont Fire Department with a subject who had a gunshot wound. The subject was doing her son’s laundry, and when she placed the laundry basket on the ground, a firearm went off, striking her. The subject was unaware of the firearm prior to the discharge, and it did not belong to her. Officers collected the firearm from the subject.

Friday, April 24

• Officers responded to a possible shooting at a residence on Yerba Buena Pl. A resident saw a subject in a parked vehicle shooting what appeared to be a rifle toward nearby homes. Upon arrival, officers determined that the rifle was a pellet gun, and the subject had fired multiple shots toward a residence. The subject was placed under arrest.

Sunday, April 26

• Officers responded to a robbery at a hardware store on Ice House Terrace. A subject concealed a hammer and saw blades on his person, then attempted to leave the store. When loss prevention personnel confronted him, the subject brandished the hammer at them, then fled on foot. Officers located the subject and placed him under arrest.
