Talent2Give hosts spring fest for seniors

Organization reinforces commitment to ending child hunger

Talent2Give is a nonprofit organization dedicated to connecting talented individuals to enrich communities. Founded by youth leader Jiya Kohar, the organization has become a vibrant platform for youth engagement and community service.

Over the recent spring break, Talent2Give expanded its presence internationally, launching new chapters in Spain and South Africa.

In tandem with this expansion, Jiya and her team organized a series of successful fundraising initiatives, including bake and handcrafted art sales. All proceeds were dedicated to combating child hunger, an issue deeply important to the organization. Last year, Talent2Give helped raise funds to sponsor over 8,000 meals, and this year’s efforts aim to exceed that impact.

On March 21, Talent2Give hosted a “Spring Fest” for senior citizens, made possible through generous sponsorship from Sahana Kiron Magal, community director at Priya Living. The event reflected respect for elders and her commitment to honoring traditions while fostering intergenerational connections.

The evening began with gratitude toward the seniors, followed by a lineup of performances. Young children, aged four, captivated the audience with an energetic dance medley, featuring Anika Gupta, Mira Pranit-Pranali, Amaira Arjun, Aneeka Joshi and Advay Gavade.

Serving as the evening’s emcee, Jiya Kohar kept the audience engaged with an interactive trivia quiz. The program continued with a lively multilingual dance performance by Aadya Charugulla, Inaaya Sanchihar, Kiara Arjun and Gotisha Pangeni.

The festivities also featured an elegant gymnastic trapeze-style ribbon performance by Vipra Sakhare and Sanya Trimbake, followed by a fun, impromptu segment where children taught their parents dance moves.

The highlight of the evening was an electrifying and graceful performance by choreographer Dhara Sanchihar alongside talented mothers Sangita Bhandari, Rupali Agarwal, Priti Rahul, and Krithika Mohan.

The celebration concluded with tea, snacks and popsicles, along with birthday wishes for a beloved senior. Laughter and lively conversations continued as seniors enthusiastically interacted with participants and their families. Everyone returned home with hearts full of joy and fond memories.
