Only a few days after a car struck and killed a pedestrian on Dec. 13, another fatal collision occurred on Thursday, Dec. 18 on Fremont Boulevard, south of Delaware Drive.
Fremont Police officers responded to the incident around 4:30am. A vehicle was travelling southbound on Fremont Boulevard, and a pedestrian was crossing the road either by foot or on a bicycle. The front driver’s side of the vehicle collided with the pedestrian.
According to a press release from Fremont Police Department, released on Friday, Dec. 19, “Officers, Fremont Firefighters, and paramedics attempted life-saving measures before the pedestrian was transported to an area hospital for further medical treatment.” The pedestrian later passed away from their injuries at the hospital.
The light at the intersection was working, and drug or alcohol impairment do not seem to be a factor. The driver remained at the scene and cooperated with police. The exact location of the collision is still unclear.
This is the 7th fatal collision in Fremont in 2025.
