Ohlone hosted its annual DÃa de los Muertos celebration on Tuesday, Oct. 29, gathering 200 attendees for food, music and altars. The afternoon opened with a mariachi band, and MEChA students, led by co-advisors Professor Jennifer Jovel and Professor Eli Barbosa, gave a ballet folklorico performance. The event was organized by MEChA, with the support of the Lytton Center.
For Nov. 2024, Ohlone has announced Faculty Instructional Designer Jackie Vetter as faculty of the month. Her 15-year journey at Ohlone began with Curriculum and Scheduling Coordinator and Newark Center Site Coordinator positions. Now she leads professional development workshops for faculty. She advocates for educational equity and effectiveness in online classes.
