Who’s a good dog? ALL of them! It’s time to fetch some fun for the whole family at the 24th Annual “No Pedigree? No Problem!” Dog Show benefiting Ohlone Humane Society and Niles Main Street Association on Saturday, July 20 at Niles Community Park. Registration and $10 pancake breakfast begin at 9am. The first contest begins at 10am.

This treasured community event celebrates all ages, sizes, and breeds of dogs with a variety of contests and activities for everyone to enjoy. Lighthearted competitive classes invite dogs to strut their stuff: Best Costume, Best Dog/Owner Lookalike, and Most Unusual Mix with Prettiest Female and Handsomest Male contests divided into Small (under 45 pounds) and Large (45 pounds and over) divisions. First-place winners from each of these contests will vie for the coveted “Best in Show” award.

Pre-register your pooch at nilesdogshow.org for a discount available through Thursday, July 18. Fees are $25 for online pre-registration or $30 for registration on the day of the show. This enters your dog for one class; additional classes are just $5 each. Each contestant must be individually registered.

Or pets can enter two fun bonus contests, with no registration required! From 9am to 11:45am, for a suggested $1 donation, you’ll get 30 seconds to encourage your canine companion to provide Most Tail Wags or Most Kisses (to you). Winners will be announced in the Center Ring before the noon professional demonstration begins.

Not interested in the show ring? With your leashed buddy, check out food vendors and raffle prizes, cool your pooch off at the doggy water park, pose at the Hawgs for Dawgs giant inflatable pooch, and tour the information and vendor booths with products for human and doggy enjoyment. And visit the Ohlone Humane Society’s booths! For the kids this year, there will be face painting and dog show temporary tattoos available next to the show ring for a $1 donation each.

The Alameda County Search and Rescue Team and Fremont Police K9 units will give demonstrations (if not called away on business). The Rescue Dog Parade shows off adoptable pooches from several rescue associations. Dedicated volunteers will be onsite to answer questions.

The Niles Dog Show thanks Platinum Sponsors Beacon Veterinary Specialists and The Florence Bar; Gold Sponsor Club K9; Silver Sponsors Central Veterinary Hospital, NorCal Golden Retriever Rescue, and Pet Food Express; and all additional sponsors for their support of this great day celebrating “All Things Dog.” See nilesdogshow.org for a complete list of sponsors, vendors, and dog rescues.
