Around the East Bay Area, cities, parks, and community hubs are getting ready to celebrate America’s 248th birthday! Some events start the last weekend in June, so mark your calendars. Follow firework rules in your city of residence, as many cities don’t permit even “safe, sane” fireworks.

Independence Day Celebration

Saturday, June 29

10 a.m. – 2 p.m.

Join us for some summer fun in Meek Estate Park celebrating Independence Day on Saturday, June 29 from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m.! Shop with local vendors, connect with community organizations, and enjoy live music from the Blues Bottle Band. Bring the whole family and a picnic lunch. Meek Mansion will be open for self-guided tours of the first floor too.

Fremont 4th of July Parade

This year’s theme for the Fremont 4th of July Parade is “Peace, Love, Fremont,” reflecting the way people from many cultures and backgrounds come together to celebrate. A parade of floats featuring local organizations will begin at 10 a.m. Nearby roads will be closed from 7 a.m. – 1 p.m.

Independence Day Celebration at Ardenwood

Join us for a fun-filled community festival, 1900-style! Celebrate the United States of America’s 248th birthday with music, games, and activities for everyone all day long. Bring a picnic or grab a bite at the Farmyard Café and spend the day the old-fashioned way! Fee: $10/adults, $8/seniors (62+), $5/children (4-17), under 4 years free.

Red, White, and Boom! Fireworks & Concert

5 p.m. – 10 p.m.

Celebrate the United States of America’s 248th birthday and the City of Milpitas’ 70th birthday with live music by Con Bio, delicious food, activities and fireworks! Bring blankets and low folding chairs; no tents, tables, lounge chairs, or large umbrellas. No pets allowed. This is a smoke- and drug-free event. Purchase tickets on simpletix.com.
